Scottish Reservoirs Charging Scheme Consultation - Reservoir Managers' Views Required

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has launched a consultation to seek Reservoir Managers' views on the proposed new charging scheme for reservoir safety which is planned to be introduced on 1 October 2015.

SEPA is required to fully recover the direct regulatory and administrative costs of carrying out its duties under the Reservoirs (Scotland) 2011 Act and it is proposed that these will be recovered from fees and charges, in accordance with the 2011 Act and the Reservoirs (Scotland) Regulations 2015.

The consultation, which is a statutory obligation under the 2011 Act, seeks to gain feedback from reservoir operators on a range of charges including the proposed level of registration fee (out with the initial 6 month free registration period), annual subsistence costs and other charges.

The consultation will run until Friday 10 July 2015.

For more information about the consultation and to submit your response visit SEPA's website.
