The final of the BDS prize was held at the ICE, London on Monday 16th November 2015. The BDS Prize is a technical paper competition for engineers below the age of 35. The three finalists presented their work in front of an audience of reservoir panel engineers and BDS members the results were as follows:-

1. Winner: Kate Speirs (MMB) - Spillway Design Innovation: Pre-cast Concrete “U-Sections” & Rail Installation System
2. Second Place: Rhys Coombs  (MWH) - A comparison of physical scale models, CFD models, and observed events at the original spillway of a UK dam
3. Third Place: Chris Oates (GHD Livigunn) - Integration and Innovation – Combined Temporary and Permanent Work Design Swinden & Lee Green Impounding Reservoir Spillway Upgrades

The winners of the BDS Photo competition were also announced on the night and the results are as follows:-

1. Winner: James Parkhurst -Craig Goch Dam
2. Second Place:Stewart Roberts - Glencorse Reservoir
3. Third Place:Ross Morrin - Daer Reservoir
