Next BDS Meeting: AGM & International Lecture - Monday 25th April 2022 at 6pm
This month’s evening meeting will be our AGM followed by our biennial International Lecture. This year we welcome Tracey Williamson, former BDS Chair and Fellow of the ICE, who will be presenting on Dam Safety Management in Queensland, Australia. She will compare and contrast the dam safety regimes practiced in the UK and Queensland, whilst highlighting some of the dams she has inspected. She will discuss how dam owners prepare for emergencies and give examples of where UK dam owners may consider including some of these practices within their own emergency and incident planning. Tracey will also provide a brief overview of a project, where she was the lead designer of a 25 m high concrete gravity weir, which is currently under construction.
Tracey will be presenting in person at One Great George Street. The evening will also be streamed live online. No prior registration is necessary.
Teas will be provided at 5.30pm at the ICE, London with the meeting starting at 6pm. Following the meeting those attending the event in London will be able to meet in The Westminster Arms (on Storey’s Gate).
We will also be restarting some of our regional hubs for this event with members being able to come together in Glasgow, Warwick and Leeds. If you wish to join a hub please see the Regional Hubs Flyer on the BDS Events Calendar
