Environment Agency - Update to reservoir flood maps

The Environment Agency are currently making changes to reservoir flood maps. The following statement has been issued by them regarding the changes that will be taking place.

'The Flood Risk Regulations require the Environment Agency to produce and publish reservoir flood maps, including information on the depth and velocity of flooding that would result from reservoir failure. These maps will be available on our website by the end of March.

We have prepared a briefing note for reservoir owners to tell them what is happening with the Risk of Flooding from Reservoirs map and how they will be used by us and partners.   The Reservoir Flood Maps were produced in 2008/09.  Large raised reservoirs built or completed since that date may not yet have been mapped.   Please find the briefing note attached here.'
