21st BDS Conference
The 21st BDS Conference will be held at the University of Nottingham between 16th and 19th September 2020
The main theme of the conference will be; Sustainability within the context of UK dam development, management and operation.
Papers are invited to cover the following topics:
- Risk Analysis and Dam Safety Management
- Environmental aspects and Climate Change
- Materials for Dam Repair and Rehabilitation
- Legislation and Regulatory Changes
- Maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components of dams
- Investigations and Design
- Use of Technology/Innovation
- Discontinuance and Abandonment
- Case Studies – Developing existing assets that are now subject to regulatory controls
- Case Studies - Incidents affecting the safety of dams
- Case Studies – Contingency and Emergency Planning
Synopses, maximum 250 words, should be submitted by 30th November 2019 to Andrew Thompson, the BDS Honorary Technical Secretary (hontechsec@britishdams.org).
