The Environment Agency is conducting research to better understand how open methods could be adopted for operational flood hydrology. This includes both flood estimation for design / planning and flood forecasting.  The project covers flooding from rivers, surface water, groundwater and reservoirs. The project is seeking to identify the benefits, risks and requirements for moving towards approaches that use open methods. As part of this research, the opinions and knowledge of the UK hydrological community is requested, in order to gather as many viewpoints as possible to inform recommendations.
