The Environment Agency has published its Roadmap for the National Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) Strategy for England. A copy can be found here.

Reservoirs are mentioned in ambition 2 on page 23 of the Roadmap, ‘Between now and 2030 owners and operators of large, raised reservoirs will ensure they are safe in a changing climate. The Environment Agency will update guidance for the reservoir industry on climate readiness to ensure reservoirs continue to be resilient to extreme flood events and climate change.’ 

In addition to the Roadmap publication, Ofwat and the EA have published a joint approach clarifying how water companies (as risk management authorities) should plan and consider for flood and coastal resilience.
