2018 BDS Conference Proceedings – discussions notes: The 2018 BDS conference proceedings webpage has been updated to include the discussion notes for the six technical presentation sessions. The proceedings page can be accessed here. You will be required to use your BDS login credentials to access the page.
SE Forum 2019 – call for presentations: The SE Forum will be held at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham on Thursday 12th September 2019. Synopses for presentations are requested by 17th May 2019. Further details can be found here.
BDS Mentoring Scheme and Q&A sessions: This BDS initiative is aimed at helping BDS Members of any age or discipline to achieve their goals within the dams and reservoirs profession, be that to improve knowledge regarding the design, operation, and maintenance of dams or to develop the necessary skills to become a Panel Engineer under relevant reservoirs legislation. You can find out more here, and the application form is here.
Following the success of the Q&A sessions at the regional hubs prior to the February evening meeting, the BDS Committee will be continuing this initiative for future meetings. Various themes will be planned and different guests will attend alongside members of the Reservoirs Committee, who will be available to discuss your questions on becoming a Supervising Engineer or All Reservoirs Panel Engineer.
Our thanks to Keith Gardiner and Martin Hewitt for facilitating the inaugural sessions last month, where we had a number of prospective SEs attend and get involved in interesting discussions.
