Supervising Engineers’ Forum – Registration Update

Dear Member,

Thank you to all those delegates who have already registered for the Supervising Engineers’ Forum on 16th September 2021 at the University of Nottingham. In the first week of registration 75 delegates have booked with numbers rising steadily.

Registration for this event will close on Wednesday 1st September 2021 as we need to confirm numbers with the University so please don’t delay in processing your booking. Payment can be made by Paypal, credit card, debit card and BACS.

The programme is largely complete and we will be covering topics on updates from the enforcement authorities across our nations, advice and experience of onsite plans and case studies of interest. The event will be closed with a session on the future of the Supervising Engineer including a talk / discussion with Professor David Balmforth.

We understand that for some there are concerns about attending the event in person given the ongoing Covid-19 situation. For others there has been a strong desire to restart physical meetings. Following extensive discussions within the BDS committee it was decided that the event should go ahead and for it to be held in person following current best practice for covid precautions as noted in the enrolment instructions. To ensure that no-one loses out on this important CPD opportunity, recordings of all presentations will be made freely available as soon as practicable after the event on the BDS website. This will also include some additional bonus presentations. Recordings of past Supervising Engineer Forums have not been available so this will provide a new important learning resource for all members to view whenever needed.

The 2022 BDS Conference will also be held at the University of Nottingham and so this will provide us with an opportunity to view and use some of the facilities they are able to provide. As you would expect, following the event, feedback on the location and facilities will be sought and will then be considered when looking at future Supervising Engineer Forums.

Thank you for your time and we look forward to meeting you again, if not on the 16th September, very soon thereafter.
