Photography Competition 2017 - Act Now The Closing Date Is Fast Approaching

Submit your photographs without delay to be in with a chance of winning the 1st prize of £200; 2nd Prize of £100 or 3rd Prize of £50 and having your photographs published in Dams and Reservoirs or used on the BDS website.

The BDS Photography Competition is open to members of the BDS and ICE as well as Engineering Students.

Closing date for entries is 3rd November 2017 and the winners will be announced at the BDS meeting on 20th November 2017.

Rules

  1. Photographs must be original work.
  2. Photographs should be high resolution, JPEG format (minimum 3000 pixels or 3MB recommended).
  3. Entrants must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any person featured or dam owner / operator, as necessary. Where appropriate, Client Permission to publish the photograph should be included with the submission.
  4. Entrants must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
  5. Entrants can submit up to two photos electronically in colour or black and white and no entrant can win more than one prize.
  6. Each entry should be marked with the photographer’s name, postal address, email address and telephone number.
  7. Entrants should include the name of the dam, its location, and the date the photograph was taken.
  8. Entrants will retain copyright in the photographs that they submit to the BDS. By entering the competition, all entrants grant the BDS the right to publish and exhibit their photographs on the BDS website and in print in the BDS Journal and any other media. No fees payable for any of the above uses.
  9. The BDS reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
  10. Deadline for submission is 3rd November 2017.
  11. All entries will be judged by a panel of BDS Committee & non-committee members.
  12. The winner will be announced at the BDS Meeting on 20th November 2017.
