Message from Sir John Armitt, President, Institution Of Civil Engineers Call for Evidence to the National Needs Assessment

I am delighted to invite you to submit evidence to the National Needs Assessment (NNA) project, which I am chairing on behalf of a coalition of industry, business, utilities and environmental groups.

Along with many other organisations, I have long argued for an evidence-based, long-term strategy to help policy-makers with the often difficult and controversial infrastructure decisions they have to take. Since Summer 2015, I have been working with a coalition of organisations – the NNA Executive Group - to deliver a long term assessment for the UK’s infrastructure.  We are now seeking your help in setting the context for the National Needs Assessment report and to inform the evidence base for the research.

Your evidence is important to us and I hope you will contribute to this important piece of work.  To find the call for evidence questions, posed by the NNA Executive Group, please visit the ICE website. You can also find more information about the coalition.

The call for evidence will close at 5pm on Monday 29th February 2016.

I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to review our questions and provide evidence. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact Andrew Wescott, Head of Policy and Public Affairs at andrew.wescott@ice.org.uk.

With my best wishes

Sir John Armitt

President, Institution of Civil Engineers
