The British Dam Society Biennial Conference 2018

Welcome to the online registration website for ‘The British Dam Society 20th Biennial Conference’, to be held in Swansea University Bay Campus from Thursday 13th until Saturday 15th September 2018.

The final closing date for registration is Tuesday, 31st July 2018. Registrations after this date cannot be accepted by Swansea University.

The various delegate packages are shown below and include full residential, day delegate and exhibitor packages.

Please note:

If you are already a BDS member please log into your account and your personal data will be added to the registration form below. Only one booking can be made using each BDS login.

If you are not a BDS member please fill out all necessary information in the registration form below and an account will be created for you.

If you are responsible for making multiple bookings for delegates from one organisation please register each delegate by completing an individual registration form for each delegate and a new account will be created for them.  It is not possible to make multiple bookings using a single e-mail address or BDS account because of recent changes made by the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).  You will need to know each delegate’s option for workshops/visits, as well as their dietary requirements.

Conference fee payments can only be made by cheque or BACS and these are required within 7 days of registration.  A single payment for multiple bookings can be made within the same timeframe.

Site Visits

On Thursday and Friday afternoons delegates will be given the choice of attending site visits or technical workshops. Selection of these sessions can be made below. Places on all sessions are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

• Two technical workshops - one workshop from early afternoon session (T1-T5) and one workshop from late afternoon session (T6-T10).

 F10: Geotechnical aspects of the design, construction and inspection of tailings dams - an introduction

* These workshops are a repeat of the Thursday sessions

Remote monitoring (Parts 1 & 2) will have different content and delegates do not have to attend both sessions.

Delegates attending the ‘Emergency planning, incident management & post-incident reporting’ are encouraged to attend both Parts 1 & 2 as the teaching provided in Part 1 will be applied in the scenarios in Part 2.
